Mushroom gravy recipe
Here comes the mushroom gravy recipe. Gravies are necessary in our diet. They are healthy, and just seeing a well prepared gravy will make us hungry. Juicy or creamy, they are the perfect compliment to most foods. And not to mention the visual impact they have on the dinner table, in a fancy gravy boat next to the main course.
So today we are going to make mushroom gravy. It’s perfect addition to any kind of meat, or even potatoes.
Mushroom gravy recipe – Ingredients
- 250 g canned mushrooms
- 1 onion
- 1 cup wine
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups water
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 cup sour cream
- Lemon juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
Mushroom gravy recipe – Directions
Finely chop the onion
Heat a bit of oil in a pan and add the onion. Fry it until translucent, and then add the wine. Leave everything to boil.
In the meanwhile, slice the mushrooms.
Add the mushrooms to the pan and mix well. Cook for about 10 minutes.
Drain the liquid resulted after cooking the mushrooms. This will be used for making the gravy. Set the mushrooms aside.
Heat the butter in a small saucepan. Add the flour and mix well until it becomes a paste. Combine the two cups of water with the strained liquid and add them little by little, while constantly stirring. Keep stirring until the mixture becomes creamy.
Pour the cream in a large bowl. Add the egg yolks, sour cream, salt, pepper, and squeeze a bit of lemon juice.
Mix everything well.
Add the mushrooms to the mixture, mix and your mushroom gravy are done!
Serve the delicious mushroom gravy next to or over the meat of choice.
